DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MELVIN INGRAM, SOUTH CAROLINA
Senior, Defensive End, Hamlet, NC/Richmond County
South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram had an all-around game as the Gamecocks held off SEC-rival Georgia, 45-42. Ingram recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown, and took a direct snap (off a fake punt) and ran 68 yards for a score. He added one tackle and secured the victory when he recovered an onside kick.

Just found a great source for SEC Gameday dresses (yes, there are girls who follow your blog too!) The website is TwelveSaturdays.com.
Gotta support the small businesses out there… who knows, maybe I’ll promote one a week or month throughout the season if I keep getting submissions for them.
Plus, they look great!

Looking at Bama’s 2011 opponents, I had a Wizard of Oz moment, and was inspired to make this design.
Awesome! I love fan art!

“Texas has the Longhorn Network. Texas A&M has the SEC. Aggieyell.com is reporting that the Aggies have cast their lot with and have been accepted by the Southeastern Conference.”
There you have it…

When the Commodores open the season Sept. 3 in Vanderbilt Stadium, they’ll likely to be competing on one of the top grass surfaces in the nation.
The Dudley Field resurfacing project was the result of the U2 concert on July 2 when nearly 50,000 spectators jammed the stadium to watch the show. The grass surface needed to be replaced after U2 crews used heavy equipment to construct a massive circular performance stage in the middle of the football field.
I’m curious as to how many fans Coach Franklin is going to get in there… Seems to be revitalizing that place in every other facet of it’s being.
